"De'ja Vu" Great Divide OM
#1
This is our second instrument from the shop of
Wilhelm Henkes and Rudolph Blazer in Tuebingen, Germany, but
the first new one... and the first with our Logo and design
elements. Willi and Rudolph have a well-earned reputation as
one of Europe's premier vintage style shops both in the
restoration and construction of traditional guitars.
They combine the best of old world
craftsmanship and attention to detail with a thorough
understanding of the great American tradtional guitars made
in the 1930s. You can visit their webpage here
http://www.antique-acoustics.de/
After having a chance to play a few tunes here
in Colorado with Willi, we decided to create a series of
"De'ja Vu" guitars from Germany using The Great Divide Logo,
and the best old-time Martin style construction
features.
This guitar just arrived and in addition to
the obvious beauty... the tone is delectable. Every note is
fat and buttery... and yet with a real feeling for that
old-time Brazilian Rosewood tone.
The top is German Spruce with nice bear claws,
and the sides are mostly quarter-sawn. This photo doesn't
begin to do justice to the abalone peghead inlay... which
dazzles you in person. I'll shoot a better one. It's much
more colorful.
($8750 with hardshell, and a doggone
bargain)
